A quick update, on the model of last year’s, to note what’s been up recently and where and when I’ll be speaking in the coming months.
First off, the Wycliffite Bible project held a successful workshop last week, reporting on some of our findings so far and gathering feedback on our prototype digital edition.
Leave a CommentThis week, at quite short notice, the excellent Michael Madrinkian and I found ourselves in a room recording readings of lyrics from Richard Rolle’s Ego dormio. This isn’t normal. Indeed, when I mentioned this to a friend and said that it’s unusual to be reading Rolle aloud, my friend said ‘It’s unusual to be reading Rolle full stop.’ So what happened?
Leave a CommentQuadrivium: as its new website has it, an ‘annual training event for postgraduates and early career researchers of medieval and early modern textual studies’. There’s no conference fee and—get this!—there are even small but very helpful grants towards the cost of accommodation and travel. So of course I go. This year I attended the ninth Quadrivium symposium, hosted by the University of Kent.
